TRADITION

It all started during ERF 2019 when the first edition of the “Roborun” took place and since then, the 5 km run has happened every year and has only changed name to become the Charity Run.

A local charity is selected by the local organising committee to raise funds for STEM-related projects for the children of the host country’s organisation. This year, element-I educational foundation has been chosen.

The total amount of entry fees and donations is doubled by euRobotics and will be handed over to the charity during the Welcome Reception.

When: Tuesday 25 March 2025

DETAILED PROGRAM SOON AVAILABLE

the route

To give people who do not want to run a chance to participate as well, we have added an extra walking option to the standard run.

All the ‘runners’ will enjoy a beautiful track through the park of Stuttgart. To allow a fluent run, volunteers will be posted along the way to encourage the participants and indicate the way.

REGISTRATION FEE

The entry fee for the run is € 35,00. Participants that do not want to run can make donations for the run via the normal registration system. All the money are donated to the association.

CHARITY

Founded in 2011, the element-i educational foundation opens up new horizons for children – regardless of their gender, background or their parents’ financial means. Children can discover their interests and individual talents, develop creativity and self-confidence and draw strength from this for their entire lives in interactive projects relating to “art and culture” and “tinkering and exploring”.

An application-oriented, exploring and open minded approach to practical STEM topics is the key to encouraging children’s natural spirit of research and sparking enthusiasm that lasts for years. This gives all children the chance to discover and develop their interests, strengths and talents so that they can later find their way in a technology-oriented society. The Education Foundation is committed to gender-sensitive STEM support for girls and boys in daycare centers and schools.

The objectives

Little kids have big ideas and need a space to develop them. In the Tüftlerei, the first element-i children’s workshop in Stuttgart, daycare and school groups can try out their creativity all year round in different areas (like wood, metal, electronics and robotics workshops) and implement their own ideas and projects under the guidance of experts.

Creative, curious and well-trained specialists are one of the most important resources for the future viability of companies, science and society.

Especially the use of various robotics solutions in the children’s workshop is ideal for imparting knowledge as part of (early) childhood education in order to deepen 21st century skills such as problem-solving and critical thinking. (Early) childhood education in these skills is essential for individual educational success. It lays the foundations for later opportunities for participation and advancement in an increasingly complex world.

Projects

By implementing its own projects, Tüftlerei creates creative experience spaces for all children, so that not only special talents are promoted, but also disadvantaged children are addressed. These children can be reached by the fact that all our offers are free and aimed at educational institutions and are therefore independent of parental involvement (like money, resources, education).

The children’s workshop aims to help break down potential inhibitions so that children can (re)discover and explore topics such as handicraft, computer science, natural sciences and technology with passion.

Children discover something new every day, want to try things out and understand their world. They are born tinkerers and explorers. This incredible curiosity is encouraged and the child’s spirit of discovery is kindled by exploring STEM subjects. This lays the foundations for later opportunities for participation and advancement.
