TG relation: Cloud robotics

Areas mainly addressed: Healthcare, Agri-Food, Maintenance and Inspection, Agile Production, Robotics and AI/Big Data Value, Autonomy, Collaborative Robots and cloud robotics, Cybersecurity in Robotics, Control technology including virtualisation and edge/cloud

Main questions to be answered:

· What are the current major enablers of cloud robotics applications?

· Which are the major constraints, especially in terms of data privacy and security?

· What is state-of-art in cloud robotics outside Europe?

WS Description: Cloud robotics is gaining widespread adoption in sectors such as warehouse and logistics automation, healthcare, mining, agriculture, and construction. Key players are launching innovative solutions that can handle computationally heavy tasks, enable power and cognitive collaboration, are easy to scale and manage, and increase the available data to share. However, data privacy and security considerations remain relevant, and highly distributed processes gain traction to solve security issues. In this context, we will follow up on the conclusions of the ERF 2022 workshop to characterise cloud robotics applications in their different dimensions and understand where and how they can function together with distributed processes. This year we would also like to bridge work being done in other parts of the world (especially in Asia and in the US).

Intended outcome: Workshop discussion topics of common interest, success stories, use cases, etc, Workshop expected to create a roadmap or white paper, Workshop on recent developments in technology or applications
